Animals

The Animals collection takes familiar creatures and pushes them somewhere less familiar.

Rather than traditional wildlife illustration, these pieces use colour, texture, exaggeration and surreal detail to turn animals into expressive characters. Some are bold and colourful, others darker or more atmospheric, but each begins with the personality and visual presence of the animal itself.

The collection includes everything from powerful wildlife to domestic companions, with influences ranging from psychedelic art and fantasy to decorative portraiture and character design.

These are animals seen through the Stressed Ape Studios lens — recognisable, but rarely ordinary.

Selected designs from the collection are available across clothing, accessories, prints and gifts, allowing the artwork to move beyond the gallery wall and onto everyday objects.
